Terms of Use
Last updated: 12 July 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Helping Hands — a website and Android app that helps people in Assam find local home-service professionals. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you are joining as a service professional, the Provider Terms also apply to you.
1. What Helping Hands is (and is not)
Helping Hands is a directory. We list profiles of independent service professionals (“providers”) — plumbers, electricians, cleaners, beauticians and others — so you can find them. Browsing profiles is free. Paying ₹10 (or spending 1 wallet credit) reveals a provider’s phone number. That is the entire paid service.
Everything after the reveal happens directly between you and the provider, off our platform: negotiation, scheduling, the work itself, and payment for the work. Helping Hands is an intermediary and is not a party to any service contract between you and a provider. We do not guarantee a provider’s workmanship, prices, or availability. We charge providers nothing — no commission, no lead fees — so we have no stake in any job you agree.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Helping Hands.
- One account per person. Your account is personal — do not share it, sell it, or operate accounts for others.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Keep your phone number (used for OTP login) under your control.
3. What “ID-verified” means — read this
Providers marked “ID-verified” have completed phone OTP verification and a document review of their PAN or Aadhaar (offline e-KYC). That is all it means. We do not conduct police verification or background checks of any kind, and an ID-verified badge is not a recommendation, endorsement, or safety guarantee.
Helping Hands verifies identity documents, not workmanship. Agree on price and scope before work begins.
4. Wallet and reveal credits
- Pricing: ₹10 for a single reveal, ₹49 for 6 credits, ₹99 for 15 credits. All prices are inclusive of GST. New accounts receive 3 free credits on signup.
- Credits are closed-system credits: non-transferable, non-withdrawable, and redeemable only against contact reveals on Helping Hands. They can never be encashed or converted to money.
- Credits are valid for 90 days from the date of purchase or grant. Expired credits lapse without compensation.
- Once you unlock a provider’s number, it stays visible to your account free of charge, forever. You are never charged twice for the same provider.
- Refunds, where due, are issued only as wallet credits — see the Refund Policy.
5. Acceptable use and anti-scraping
The directory exists so genuine customers can contact providers. To protect providers’ phone numbers:
- We apply reveal caps (limits on how many numbers an account can unlock in a period). Accounts that hit unusual patterns may be slowed, capped, or reviewed.
- No harvesting: you may not collect, compile, resell, or republish provider contact details, whether manually or with tools.
- No automated access: bots, scrapers, crawlers, and bulk-unlock scripts are prohibited.
- No misuse of revealed numbers: no spam, telemarketing, harassment, or adding providers to marketing lists.
Breach of this section may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account and forfeiture of remaining credits.
6. Reviews and ratings
- Only customers who have unlocked a provider’s number may review that provider. This keeps reviews tied to real contact.
- Incentivized reviews are prohibited — providers may not offer discounts, cashback, or anything else in exchange for a review, and customers may not solicit payment for one.
- We moderate reviews. We may remove reviews that are fake, abusive, defamatory, off-topic, or that reveal personal information, and we may suspend accounts that post them.
7. Provider suspension and delisting
We act on complaints. If a provider receives 2 verified complaints, their profile is suspended pending review. Providers whose listed numbers are found dead or invalid are delisted. Details are in the Provider Terms.
8. Refunds
If a number you unlocked is dead or invalid and you report it within 7 days of the unlock, we refund that reveal automatically as a wallet credit. A provider simply not answering a call on a working number is not grounds for a refund. Full details, including how Google Play purchases are handled, are in the Refund Policy.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Helping Hands is not liable for any loss or damage arising out of services performed (or not performed) by providers, disputes between you and a provider, or your reliance on profile information. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the service is capped at the amounts you actually paid to Helping Hands in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Changes, suspension and termination
We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above will change and material changes will be notified in-app or by SMS. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. You can delete your account at any time — see Delete my account.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection forum available to you, the courts at Guwahati, Assam have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the service.
12. Complaints and grievances
If something goes wrong, start with our Grievance Redressal page. It lists our grievance officer, response timelines, and how to escalate. For how we handle your data, see the Privacy Policy.
